Vocal Foundations - Adult (19+)
Sunday, September 14th - 3:15 pm - 4:45 pm
Cost - $100
Students will become familiar with their voice as a mechanism and learn about breath support and throat relaxation (two foundational keys to good singing). With a combination of teacher-to-class instruction and interactive exercises, new singers will have the opportunity to practice new techniques, and experienced singers will add to their vocal “tool belt” with new insights and experimentation. Open to ages 19+, must be willing to sing in front of others.
Instructor Bio - Marian Bodnar
Marian Bodnar is a veteran performer and educator with over forty-five years of professional singing and voice teaching experience. She has served on the faculties of Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts, El Camino College, Fullerton College, The Stella Adler Academy of Acting, and spent thirty years on the music faculty at California State University, Long Beach. Her stage career includes leading roles in West Side Story, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, The Pirates of Penzance, The Mikado, and Carousel, as well as seventeen seasons with the Los Angeles Master Chorale, performances with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus, cabaret, oratorio, and Disney voice work. She holds a B.M. from CSUF, an M.M. from CSULB, and is a certified Somatic Voice Instructor. Marian teaches privately in Fullerton, California.
